The Redot Forum server was shut down on June 7th to facilitate the relocation of the server's hardware. We apologize for not announcing the shutdown in advance. This is also an opportunity for us to discuss the current state and future of the Redot Forums.
When will the server be back online?
At this time, there are no plans to bring the Redot Forums back online. For forum-related activities, you may continue to use the "Forum Channels" provided in the Discord server.
The future of Redot Forums
Regarding the continuation of the Redot Forums, discussions have reached a roadblock. Despite being available for a while, the forums have experienced a noticeable decline in activity and a consistently low number of active participants. Additionally, there have been challenges with search engines indexing the forum site, which likely contributed to the difficulty in attracting new users.
Even with a dedicated link in the navigation bar of the main Redot Engine website, interest in the forums remained low. This issue likely could not have been resolved by improving site indexing alone.
The future of a Redot-hosted forum is uncertain at this point. If the forums are brought back, they will likely take on a different form. As things currently stand, the community appears to prefer engaging through the Redot Discord server, and there is little interest in using additional platforms.
What you can do
For those who were actively using the forum, you can continue your discussions in the Discord server under the forum channels. Alternatively, you may consider moving your content to the Redot Engine Subreddit.
